About SSI 2007
The SENCER Summer Institute 2007 was hosted by the University of Southern Maine, marking the first year that the Institute
was held on the east coast. It also signaled the beginning of a new tradition of alternating the location of the national
meeting between coasts to better accommodate members of the SENCER community throughout the United States. In addition to featuring
traditional SENCER themes and learning opportunities, attention was paid to SENCER's application to community colleges,
pre-service teacher education, assessment and quality assurance, and the development of a competent, science-literate workforce.
