Institutes: Implementation Awards

NCSCE awards competitive Post-Institute Implementation Sub-Awards following SENCER Summer Institutes, contingent on funding from the National Science Foundation.

These sub-awards are intended to promote the implementation or continuation of projects with an emphasis on developing measurable and achievable goals and innovative plans to acquire evidence of project outcomes.

To be eligible to apply for this sub-award:

  • A team must have had four team members in attendance at the most recent SSI (colleagues who were not able to attend the Institute may, however, be part of the implementation plan).
  • One of your team members must have attended a meeting during the Institute about the implementation award application process.
  • Finally, all team members present at the Institute must complete the online evaluation by the stated evaluation deadline.

On the application, you will need to provide:

  • Information on what you plan to do, who the target audience will be, and who will be involved.
  • A comprehensive plan as to how you will evaluate the impact and success of the course or program.
  • A plan of dissemination to the SENCER community and other audiences.
  • A budget for the two-year term of the grant.

We advise that you take a moment to look at the Post-Institute Implementation Award rubric reviewers will use to evaluate applications.  We do appreciate that all categories on the document will not apply to all projects, but many of the items on the form are universally applicable.

Please note, if you have received an award in the past, a request for funding must be for a wholly new project.  Funding is not granted to support continuation of a past project.  Also, a given institution may submit only one application for an award per year.
