We welcome your interest and participation in a new aspect of the SENCER Project focusing on the Scholarship
of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). This workshop focuses on helping participants develop and refine project rooted
in the scholarship of teaching and learning that inquire critically and reflectively into student learning.
Participants in the workshop will:
- develop and explore a specific question they have about student learning (including hypotheses where appropriate)
- identify evidence to be gathered that will address the questions
- develop their own understanding of the ethical issues involved in this scholarship
- learn where to find needed resources
- explore ways to make public their work in this scholarship
Example of good research questions are available on the
Carnegie KML web site
gallery; in addition, you can find the project descriptions of the work that SENCER participants Spencer Benson,
Matt Fisher, and Jackie Dewar completed during their time as Carnegie Scholars in the overview of the Carnegie Scholars Program.
