About SENCER Leadership Fellow Cindy Kaus

Cindy Kaus has achieved notable success in translating SENCER ideals to mathematics and statistics instruction at Metropolitan State through the development of a course that connects learning community issues. Cindy has organized workshops on SENCER, mathematics learning, and civic engagement designed especially for adjunct faculty. She has presented on Metro State’s programs at the Capitol Hill Symposium and other venues. As a SENCER Leadership Fellow, Cindy will expand SENCER work at Metro State, serve on the leadership council for the SENCER Center for Innovation-Midwest, and continue to engage adjunct faculty at Metro State in these innovations and reforms, On the national level, Cindy serves as a Visiting Mathematician at the National Center for Science and Civic Engagement for the 2008-2009 academic year, during which time she will develop strategies and carry out projects to increase the participation of mathematicians and mathematics educators in SENCER.
