Maria Curtin has been involved with SENCER since 2002, a partnership that has spawned many important innovations including the creation of a learning community focused on the economic impact of scientific innovations. Maria has a keen understanding of the role that science education needs to play in the education of all students, in citizenship formation and in democratic decision making.

As a SENCER Leadership Fellow, Maria will develop strategies to engage and support other faculty members, at Stonehill College and elsewhere, who wish to incorporate SENCER ideals in their courses.  She will coordinate Stonehill’s partnership with the SENCER program and work to consolidate a set of courses, resources and activities that will enrich and further strengthen Stonehill’s academic program.

Maria was elected to the inaugural class of Leadership Fellows in July 2008.
